I am looking to launch my practice with 2 autism evaluations to be completed over July 8-10 under observation by an autism specialist! Though I've been doing a lot of this work on my own in primary care, it'll be my first time officially using some of the formal diagnostic tools and writing up the reports. Dr. Jen Gerdts, a psychologist specializing in autism who is part of the faculty for WA Autism Center of Excellence and helped start up Seattle Children's Autism Center, will be present during the evaluations.
Who: Have you and your pediatrician or other specialists been wondering if your child has autism or another developmental difference? If your child is between 14mo to 4yo, you could be 1 of 2 families that could benefit from a comprehensive evaluation with possible referral to ABA, among other therapies and resources!
What: This will be a full developmental evaluation to assess for autism and any other issues that might be concerning to you or your pediatrician and other therapists.
When: July 8-10. The evaluation will take place over 3 sessions, but will be completed over 2 days. The first visit will be a 60-90min parent and developmental history. We can complete a 60min observation and 60min follow-up on a subsequent day with a break in-between.
It will be best if there is childcare for the patient during the first visit. It can be nice to see them in the background but with another caregiver. If it will be difficult for the parent to concentrate with the child present, it is preferable for them to be at school/daycare.
Where: These evaluations will be done via telemed. You can be in any of these states during the evaluation: CA, CT, FL, HI, IA, IN, ME, MO, NJ, NV, NY, OR, PA, SC, or WA!
Cost: As these 2 families will be helping me start off my practice, the evaluation will be discounted to $1200 from $2000. IF THIS COST IS TOO MUCH, PLEASE STILL REACH OUT AND I WILL WORK WITH YOU TO MAKE IT HAPPEN! Unfortunately, I cannot see Medicaid patients at this time (though it is coming in WA!). I also am not in network with any insurance companies but can provide a superbill. If needed, please contact your insurance beforehand to see if any portion might be covered.
Additional info: I would like copies of any previous developmental screenings or evaluations (e.g. occupational or speech therapy). You can ask your pediatrician and therapists to send these to me directly or send them to me yourself. We can arrange for this prior to the evaluation date.
If I have more than 2 families interested, I will probably have a couple more discounted evaluations available to be seen in person on a Monday in Beacon Hill, Seattle (only the observation hour would have to be in person). Thank you for your interest!
